Proposal:
Demolition of existing retail and storage warehouse and construction of four storey building comprising of 9no. flats with provision of parking to the front and rear; 9no. cycle storage and refuse area. Provision of associated hard and soft landscaping.

Our Service:
We provided a detailed structural design service for this project, with a clear focus on delivering a cost-effective solution that maintained both the quality of the building and full compliance with Building Regulations. At the client’s request, we applied value engineering principles throughout the design process, carefully selecting the most efficient construction materials and techniques. By utilising the external walls and internal spine walls as primary loadbearing elements, we significantly reduced the need for structural steelwork. Additionally, we proposed the use of traditional trench fill foundations as a practical and economical solution. These design strategies resulted in substantial cost savings for the client without compromising structural integrity or regulatory compliance.
